Brownstone Kitchen, Brooklyn, NY
COMPLETED: Winter 2015
OVERVIEW: The tall and square rear parlor of this brownstone townhouse is dedicated to the cooking and dining area for a family that loves to cook, eat and "hang out" in the kitchen. This area of the house was gut renovated to create a better working kitchen with more counter and storage space as well as maintaining a generous dining area.
A non-working fireplace was removed to make way for a storage/serving/display unit and the masonry openings were modified to allow for symmetrical patio doors to open onto the deck. Adjustable recessed lights, carefully placed amidst the original plaster ceiling moldings provide gentle and flexible ambient light in this high-ceilinged space.
